Taplow Riverside18th September 2017
Moving on to new phases at Taplow is very exciting for our Wooldridge Groundworks team as they continue to work towards the finish of over 250 new dwellings built by Berkeley Homes.
Sean, the site Manager, has been working extremely hard over the past 2 years with the rest of the team including Lenny, Shane and Kevan, who have all been working together since the beginning of the project.
Being right next to the Thames brought certain challenges along with the groundworks – like using heavy duty pumps for 9 months which were operating 24/7 and weighed up to a tonne in order to allow us to install foul drainage and dig 11.5 metres down to put in a 10 metre pumping station.
As well as all the new properties there are 5 refurb buildings including Glen Island House in which we are installing new services and drainage. Glen Island House is a Grade 2 listed building which was built for Lt. Gen. Sir Roger William Henry Palmer – a major Irish landowner, who had fought in several of the major battles of the Crimean War.
