Flemish Farm Windsor14th January 2014
In 2006 Wooldridge were awarded the prestigious project of the redevelopment of the polo facilities at The Guard’s Polo Club premises at Flemish Farm.
The re-development works entails the delivery of 400,000 cubic meters of inert soils for the construction of two full-size, full-specification polo pitches, a smaller practice ground, construction of an irrigation lake and all the associated roads and car parking.
Flemish Farm is located in the middle of Windsor Great Park, Crown Property and a World Heritage Site, making this project extremely high profile, With many ancient trees and hedgerows within the site, an arboriculture consultant was instructed to design a tree protection scheme to suit the highly sensitive nature of the site. Once the tree protection was put in place it was inspected and approved by the senior tree officer from The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council and a representative from Natural England. It is thought that this tree protection scheme is the largest of its type ever undertaken in this country.
Works commenced in June 2009 and are on schedule for the completion date of June 2011.
