WOODBERRY DOWN DEMANDS SENSITIVE APPROACH.
Our involvement in the regeneration of Woodberry Down required us to deliver a sensitive approach to demolition works, involving a high level of public liaison.
As part of a 20-year programme of on going rejuvenation works within the London Borough of Hackney, the project involves a mix of over 4,500 social, rented, private and shared ownership home and a new range of community facilities.
Working alongside residents living in and around the site meant working space was a premium. As a result, we instigated a systematic approach to noise, dust and vibration management to ensure disruption to residents was kept to an absolute minimum.
The sensitive demolition of existing post-war housing and tenement flats required the use of our specialist high-reach equipment using grabs and shears to carefully disassemble property.
This approach also required a high level of material management, resulting in an extremely high on-site recycling and recovery rate, with virtually no materials
removed from site. We are preparing to return to site for Phase 3 of the on-going regeneration project.
